Learn MoreLearn about the importance of measuring the stoma and using skin barrier cutting guides.
To prevent leakage and keep peristomal skin healthy, it’s important to measure the stoma regularly and cut a skin barrier opening that is the right size and shape. Stoma size can change over time – especially during the first 1.5 to 2 months after surgery, as swelling diminishes.
If you have patients that wear a cut-to-fit skin barrier, we have both round and oval cutting guides to help you create an opening that will ensure a snug fit.
